Location
Coastguard Cottage is ideally situated for walkers. Just a short distance from the wonderful South West Coast Path, there is also a good bus link two minutes walk away. This could enable you to get to or from the previous or next leg of the walk without the need to keep packing up and moving on the next day.
There are numerous beaches within walking distance, and fun on the water to be had at Oddicombe and Ansteys beaches, pedalos, kayaks and paddle boards, and a friendly sailing club at Oddicombe.
Babbacombe Downs is a lovely place to just dawdle and take in the views across to east Devon.
There are many places to eat in Babbacombe and St Marychurch; tea rooms, fish and chips, Indian restaurants, seafoods and steaks.
So much to do…
There is a theatre, model village, Bygones museum, Kents cavern all within easy reach, and even if you don’t bring a car an excellent bus service will take you further afield.
From Babbacombe one bus would get you to Dawlish or Paignton. And two buses as far as Totnes, Dartmouth, Plymouth or Brixham.
Two miles away at Torquay there is a railway station and ferry boat services.
There are several beaches and amenities within walking distance, and the area is well served by buses, trains, taxis if you like to venture further afield and do not wish to drive.
